About Me

Biography

Hello, and welcome to my creative pursuit!

I'm an artist, choreographer, community activist, Producer, and therapeutic instructor who dedicates my talents to bridging the veil between fine art and scientific discovery.

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's in Fine arts concentrating in illustration and animation with a sub-concentration in scientific illustration.

My professional career in the arts started at a young age performing as the lead dancer and opening act for Victor Manuel at Foxwoods M.G.M. theater. I've toured Connecticut as one of the most anticipated salsa groups for the congressional salsa festivals receiving numerous standing ovations. In addition, I was one of the Lead Choreographers for the Puerto Rican Latin American Cultural center performing in UConn's most significant competitive events. I sit as the reigning winner for Mr. Latin U.S.A. from Bellezas Latinas U.S.A., Inc. representing Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

As an artist, I'm known for my viral works on wood, combining illustrative techniques with Pyrography. My original illustrations and designs demonstrate realism with meticulous attention to detail in various mediums. In addition, I blend concepts and ideas with different commercial art techniques to elevate the discoveries in STEM fields with a fine artist's approach.

My creations are meant to challenge the viewer's appreciation for details, forcing visual digestion and surprises within hidden elements. I've dedicated my newer works to creating memorial pieces for families who suffered losses during the COVID Pandemic.

In my undergraduate career, I was one of the first students to create an independent study collaborating with STEM faculty and the art department to develop a body of work influenced by scientific investigation and the world's first circular triptych. I later participated in the University of Connecticut's first course involving STEM professors and Art faculty to create scientific illustrations for staff use. In addition, I won first place as a finalist in UConn's Fred Ho prize creating a tribute artwork to Fred Ho's body of work and influence as an Afro-Asian composer.

After starting my own company in 2020, I've collaborated with Universities such as Yale, Colombia, and the University of Connecticut to create cover illustrations submitted for scientific journal publications. In addition, my newer techniques, such as Pyrography, have opened my work to various new concepts and explorations, including using pigmented glow powder that creates organic sensitivity to light.

In addition to my artistic focus, I've been heavily involved in community work for the elderly population. I'm currently the Lead therapeutic instructor for the nonprofit organization, the Brain Peace Science Foundation, which dedicates to improving cognition and emotion using dance movement. Working with the Lead sports neuroscientist from Yale, Dr. Kun Liu, and the foundation's founder, I've worked with over 300 elderly students between the ages of 65 -98, assisting with ongoing research and health wellness services.
